Vintage Miniature Ship's Wheel Compass
A charming pendant designed as a ship's wheel with the center holding a fully operational miniature compass. Crafted in 9k yellow gold with Englash hallmarks.
The compass is a wonderful symbol, both for it's literal usefulness as a tool and it's poetic quality as a metaphor considering it gives geographical direction; our inner moral version is sometimes the only guide available when difficult decisions must be made.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 5/16" in diameter, not including the large jump ring. Marked on the back for 9k (375) and manufacture in Birmingham, England in the 1960s.
Condition: In excellent vintage condition, there is some slight dimpling on the back and light wear to the lucite cover over the compass itself, which appears to be in working order and successful in finding direction.
