Victorian Silver Star Medal Necklace

We added an old mine-cut diamond, .11 ct, to the center of the six-pointed rose gold star on this antique sterling silver medal, and engraved the French "Toujours", translating to 'always', in the ribbon, making it a reference to an eternal pledge of devotion, love and loyalty.

Hung from a sterling silver Victorian foxtail slide chain, circa 1880, it's a poignant statement necklace solo as well as a rich layering piece with other chains and charms.

Details: The medal itself measures approximately 1 1/2" long and 1 1/4" wide, the chain has a length of approximately 22" long; the engraved slide moves freely and will sit at the top of the ball above the medal when worn. The medal is hallmarked on the back for British manufacture, in Chester, sterling silver and letter dated 1901.

Condition: In excellent condition with a deep antique patina. The watch clip clasp is in strong working order.
