This product is unavailable

A rare Victorian coiled serpent bracelet crafted in finely woven gold mesh of a deep yellow hue. The snakey pattern on his head and neck is beautifully detailed and his eyes glow like tiny embers thanks to carefully set garnet cabochons.

A symbol rich in meaning stemming back thousands of years to some of our first attempts at communication with imagery; the snake was extremely popular in the 19th century, in essence referencing eternal love, fertility, wisdom and even immortality.

Details: The body is similar to a cord and measures approximately 4 mm wide, or about 1/4". Best for a small wrist, the "closed" interior circumference is approximately 5 1/2" but can stretch to comfortably accommodate around a 6 1/2" wrist. Marked "10C" under the chin, the head XRF tests to 10k, the mesh body to 12k.

Condition: In excellent condition with minimal patina and a couple of very light dents in the mesh, not noticeable when worn. This type of bracelet is constructed with a steel coil inside to keep the shape and spring, the coil inside this one is firm and strong.
