Victorian Garnet & Chrysoberyl Cluster Ring
This garnet and chrysoberyl cluster ring likely began life as an early Victorian lace brooch or hat pin, converted at some point in the last 175 years with an antique rose gold hoop to create a pretty spectacular statement ring. The tear-drop shaped rhodolite garnets have the delicious raspberry-red color that makes them so desirable, and the luminous chartreuse chrysoberyl is foiled to create the perfect shimmering compliment to the garnet's glitter.
Details: Measuring approximately 1" north to south and 13/16" east to west across the cluster. The top is circa 1850-60, and tests to 18k, the concave shape creating a domed effect on the finger, the 9k hoop is later Victorian; there is a subtle difference in gold color that is hard to notice when worn. The stones are all natural.
Size: 6 3/4 and resizable about 2 full sizes. Please send us a message before purchase if you are interested in the details of our sizing service.
Condition: In excellent antique condition. There is subtle oxidization of the gold behind the face at the join of the band, and light wear to the setting and stones commensurate with age. The chrysoberyl shows slight abrasion with magnified inspection.
