Victorian Etruscan Revival Fringed Earrings
An excellent example of the 19th century Etruscan revival style, this pair of Victorian earrings circa 1875 is crafted in rich 20k yellow gold with the granulated filigree details that epitomize this type of work. Reminiscent of the Ancient Etruscan gold-working techniques that were mesmerizing Victorian society at the time, as a result of major archeological discoveries in Italy.
Lightweight enough for comfortable everyday wear.
Details: Measuring approximately 2 1/4" north to south from top of the earwire curve to bottom of the fringe drop, and 9/16" at the widest. The 15k (stamped) ear-wires may be later replacements. The drops are not marked for gold content but XRF test to 20k. Each earring weighs approximately 3.2 grams.
Condition: In excellent condition with a gentle all over antique patina speaking to dignified age.
