Victorian Enamel & Diamond Pansy Necklace
An antique Art Nouveau enamel pansy pendant circa 1900 with details so realistic you can almost catch a faint sweet scent. Crafted in 14k yellow gold with velvety purple petals, seed pearls edging each one, and a fiery old mine-cut diamond glittering from the center of the bloom.
In the language of flowers the pansy means "Think of Me" and the little blossoms have been a favorite love token motif for jewelry since the early 19th century. This would be a lovely touch on a summer bride, or a thoughtful gift for someone who holds a special place in your heart.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 1/4" high from the top of the seed pearl studded bail to the bottom of the flower, and 1 " wide. XRF tested to 14k, the diamond is approximately .10 ct. Hung from an 18" 14k cable chain, total necklace weight 9.6 grams.
Condition: In excellent condition with minimal wear to the enamel, and some light oxidization of the gold on the back.
