Victorian Enamel Morning Glory Brooch
$450.00
Circa 1880, a rectangular brooch crafted in sterling silver enameled with a realistically illustrated spray of Ipomoea, aka Morning Glory blooms; symbolic of the hope inherent in the soul's resurrection, but also unrequited love and the purity of devoted affection.
I love the artistic use of color, each detail bringing the flowers to life.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 7/8" long and 5/8" wide, with the original tube hinge and C-clasp.
Condition: In excellent condition with a gentle antique patina speaking to its dignified age and some light marks, but no chips in the enamel, disfiguring scratches or dents. The C-clasp and hinge are in firm working order, the pin stem has a few slight bends in it.
