Victorian Bloodstone Intaglio Warrior Ring
A Victorian ring circa 1875 featuring a large bloodstone intaglio carved with the figure of an ancient warrior, arm raised about to hurl a spear. Possibly meant to represent Achilles, a paragon of bravery and skill and one of the most celebrated ancient heros; he was often depicted with a shield and ready sword.
The smooth rose gold bezel and lightly chased shank are strong compliments to the incredibly fine details of the carving.
