Victorian Baby Tooth Brooch with Sapphires

$0.00

This product is unavailable

A Victorian brooch crafted in 18k yellow gold designed as a little branch arranged along its length with five baby teeth, set to resemble blossoming buds, and natural blue sapphire accents. Baby teeth (aka milk teeth) have been used for centuries in memento and amuletic jewelry, but Victorian society took it to an apex of popularity after Queen Victoria had sentimental flower earrings made from Princess Beatrice's baby teeth.

Details: Measuring approximately 1 3/4" long and 7/8" wide. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 18k. Weighs approximately 5.2 grams.

Condition: In excellent antique condition with a gentle patina. The teeth have light lines down the front and gentle wear to the surface, but no cavities!
