Victorian Amethyst & Pearl Bee and Flower Bracelet

$2,200.00

Beautifully crafted in rose-tinted yellow gold with open work links this Victorian bracelet circa 1890 features a plump and friendly bee set with amethysts, the little pollinator stationed between twin pearl-studded flowers.

A symbolic gift for a new bride as the bee represented hard work and loyalty in the 19th century, with an association to the sweeter things in life- like honey and flowers- positive themes Victorians might hope would carry over to the newly wedded.

Details: Measuring approximately 7" long with the links 5/16" wide. The bee itself measures 5/8" high by 3/4" wide. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 12k gold, weighs approximately 9.9 grams.

Condition: In excellent condition, with a light antique patina but no obvious dings or dents.
