Victorian Miniature Compass Pendant in 18k
A sturdy Victorian miniature compass, crafted in 18k gold, originally meant as a decorative fob for the end of a watch chain. With its crisp directional points and a glowing patina it remains fully functional, retaining both the original glass covers and an excellent sense of direction.
The compass is a wonderful symbol, both for its literal usefulness as a tool and its poetic quality as a metaphor considering it gives geographical direction; one's inner moral version is sometimes the only guide available when difficult decisions must be made.
A thoughtful choice as a graduation or friendship gift, it might also help you find your way back to your car after a long day at the mall.
Details: Measuring approximately 7/8" high, with the two attached rings adding 1/2" to the pendant drop, by 3/4" wide. The original glass is present on both sides. Weighs approximately 5.2 grams.
Condition: In excellent condition overall, with a gentle antique patina and some light wear to the glass and rings.
