Art Deco Platinum Orange Blossom Band

$475.00

A lovely Art Deco wedding band circa 1930 crafted in platinum chased with a stylized motif of orange blossoms, framed by a delicately milgrained edge. The romantic floral motif was designed to compliment the lacy filigree engagement rings of the era, today it also works beautifully as a stacking ring.

Details: Measuring approximately 1.92 mm wide and 1.10 mm thick. There is a faint number etched inside the band, likely the original jeweler's catalogue number, as well as an illegible hallmark. Marked inside the band for 100 iridium 900 platinum, a common vintage alloy. Weighs approximately 2 grams.

Size: 7 1/2 and not resizable.

Condition: In excellent condition with crisp details and a light patina.

History: Throughout history and across cultures, orange blossom flowers have symbolized purity, innocence, chastity and fertility. Queen Victoria's preference of them for her wedding wreath assured their position as "The" bridal flower throughout the rest of the 19th century, and still today they are considered the classically romantic choice.
