Georgian Love Knot Locket Ring
An early 19th century Georgian ring, crafted in 16k yellow gold featuring a glass locket compartment holding a tenderly curled lock of brown hair, tied with a tiny golden wire. Delicate and exquisitely preserved; while few antique pieces are absolutely perfect, this is as if it was barely worn. There is only a slight amount of dust inside the locket and minimal abrasion to the surface of the glass.
Possibly a mourning ring, it may also have been intended as a love token.
Details: Measures approximately 3/8" north to south at the center front, with a 1.65 mm width at the center back of the band. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 16k.
