Georgian Rock Crystal Heart Locket Necklace

The faceted edge of the rock crystal panels in this Georgian heart locket, circa 1800, add a discreetly sparkling border to frame whatever you choose to hold inside it. While it likely originally held a bit of hair, the compartment is now empty and could accommodate your own memento.

Details: Measuring approximately 13/16" north to south not including the bail, and 3/4" east to west. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 18k. Hung on a fine 20" 14k cable chain, total necklace weight approximately 6.2 grams.

Condition: In excellent antique condition with a light patina to the metal and some subtle age-appropriate marks. The rock crystal is free from rubbing or harsh scratches, with a small and shallow chip on one side near the point of the heart, and a tiny nibble near the bezel edge on the other side. Both blend into the facets, not easily noticed when worn.
