Georgian Earl of Lindsey Intaglio Signet

$0.00

This product is unavailable

An impressively scaled antique signet ring crafted in 18k yellow gold featuring an early 19th century carnelian intaglio beautifully carved with the crest from the coat of arms of the Earl of Lindsey, featuring a Saracen, or "wild man", wearing a crown. The smooth bezel and substantial mounting are strong complements to the incredibly fine details of the carving.

Though originally meant for a male hand this would be a fantastic statement ring for a woman.

Details:  Measuring approximately 1 1/8" north to south and 1" east to west across the bezeled face. A heavy solid construction with the band 2.25 mm at the center back.  Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 18k.

Size: Currently size 8

Condition: In excellent condition with crisp details and an antique patina speaking to its dignified age, and very light wear to the top of the stone, with a couple of tiny edge nibbles.

History: The Earl of Lindsey title was created in 1626 for Robert Bertie, the 14th Baron Willoughby de Eresby.
