Victorian Enamel Cupid & Pearl Pendant Necklace

A late 19th century love token pendant crafted in 14k yellow gold featuring an image of Cupid holding up a rose as if about to present it to the viewer. Enameled on copper in sweet pastel shades, the plaque is set in the center of a halo border of creamy white pearls that add their traditional symbolic meaning of faithfulness and sincerity to the message.

 Details: Originally a brooch with a broken hinge, we converted the piece to a pendant adding an antique pearl-studded bail. The pendant measures approximately 13/16" in diameter and 1 1/4" long including the bail. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 14k.  Hung from an antique 14k 19" cable chain. A total 7.7 gram necklace weight.

Condition: In excellent condition with a light patina but no chips or scratches to the surface of the porcelian. The chan has a subtle patina but the links are strong and the clasp in good working order.
