Art Deco Carved Coral Scarab Ring

An early 20th century scarab ring crafted in 14k yellow gold featuring a large scarab carved in genuine coral. The elegant setting with it's delicate Etruscan revival filigree details perfectly complements the smooth rich color of the amulet.

Details: Measuring approximately 3/4" as set, with the scarab itself measuring approximately 17 mm by 12 mm, and a rise of 1/2" above the finger when worn.

Condition: In excellent condition with a gentle patina to the gold and very minimal wear to the scarab. Marked for 14k inside the band.

History: Sacred to the Ancient Egyptians the scarab symbolized the holy cycle of life, death and rebirth or regeneration. Their image either worn or displayed was believed to be a talisman of protection against all evils, ensuring good fortune in this life as well as the next.
