Victorian Locket Ring dated 1847

$1,700.00

An early Victorian ring, crafted in 15k yellow gold that has a light honey tint, featuring a secret locket compartment inside the face, which likely originally held a small bit of hair. The face is engraved with the initial "W. R." inside an oval cartouche with black enamel accents. Additional engraving inside the band reads "o 12", and what I believe is an abbreviation for "October" 1847, meaning the person this memorial was meant to honor passed away on October 12th 1847.

While few antique pieces are absolutely perfect, this is as if it was barely worn.

Details: Measures approximately 1/4" north to south at the center front, with a 2.64 mm width at the center back of the band. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 15k. Weighs 3.7 grams

Size: 10 3/4 full. We do not recommend resizing.

Condition: In excellent antique condition. Please be careful to remove before heavy manual labor or water activites like showering, swimming or washing dishes.
