Rose Cut Ruby, Sapphire Ring with Pink Spinel & Diamond
Our hand-crafted 18k TEC Bespoke ring is designed around an oval rose-cut parti-color corundum, with accents of diamond, pink sapphire, pink tourmaline and spinel. It's not hyperbole when I describe this stone as "delicious"; it's like a beautiful drop of strawberry jam.
Weighing 4.72 ct, it's an unusual mix of both red (ruby) and blue (sapphire) in the body of one gem: completely as Mother Nature intended with no-heat treatment for color or clarity and a fascinating pattern of natural inclusions that emphasize it's one of a kind organic character.
Scientifically speaking, rubies and sapphires are simply varieties of corundum; ruby is defined as red corundum, while all other varieties of corundum, anything not red, are classified as sapphire. This particular stone was mined at Winza, in central Tanzania; mixed color stones displaying bluish violet color zones are unique to this area.
We are working with a gemstone dealer specializing in ethical mine-to-market sourcing for our custom colored gemstone pieces.
