Georgian 3-Row Turquoise Ring
I love the combo of high karat gold and turquoise: this circa 1820 Georgian ring is crafted in 20k yellow gold, set with three rows of richly saturated natural turquoise cabochons across the front. The border of the face is chased in a foliate motif, while the bifurcated shoulders each feature a meticulously sculpted flower.
A wonderful choice as a love token gift considering the gemlore of the stone; for centuries turquoise has been considered a stone of protection, wisdom, truth and constancy. A traditional German betrothal gift, legend holds turquoise will retain its color as long as the wearer remains true.
Details: Delicate and stackable, measuring approximately 3/8" north to south at the center front, and 1.85 mm at the center back of the band. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to solid 20k. Weighs approximately 2.4 grams.
Size: Currently size 7 1/2 and resizable at least two full sizes. Please message us before purchase if you are interested in the details of our sizing service.
Condition: In excellent overall condition with very light wear to the tops of the turquoise, a couple of the stones have undergone the color change that sometimes happens with natural turquoise as a result of exposure to air and various oils like perfumes or lotion. The band has been examined and is sturdy, with reasonable care ready for another 200 years of service.
