An antique Victorian brooch in 14k yellow gold featuring a beveled-glass covered compartment holding a beautifully woven love-knot of chestnut-brown hair, within a braid of the same color, enhanced by a scalloped frame of jet.
The back is engraved "Julia December 31st 1854," a lovingly crafted example of early Victorian mourning jewelry.
DETAILS: Measuring approximately 1 7/16" east to west and 1 3/16" north to south. Not marked for gold content but professionally tests to 14k.
CONDITION: In excellent antique condition with some light wear to the glass and edges of the jet settings, a little bit of dust under the glass.
