Antique Opal & Diamond Horseshoe Brooch

A statement-sized Edwardian horseshoe brooch, circa 1910, pavé set with natural Australian opals of brilliant rainbow pinfire, and accents of old mine-cut diamonds. Crafted in 14k gold it has the prescence that makes it perfect for a lapel or neckline, the opals traditionally representing luck and the diamonds faithfulness.

Details: Measuring approximately 2 1/4" high by 2" wide. The opals have an estimated 6.01 ctw, the diamonds .30 ctw. Not marked for metal content, it XRF tests to 14k and weighs approximately 16.6 grams. The brooch will come with an apprasial by a third party GIA certified gemologist. 

Condition: In excellent condition with minimal wear to the stones, including a couple of light nibbles and a slight patina to the gold. The hinge and early safety clasp are in striong working order.
