Art Nouveau Silver & Lapis Festoon Necklace

A striking antique Art Nouveau festoon necklace circa 1900, designed with faceted square cabochons of lapis lazuli suspended in an arrangement of gracefully swagged silver chains, supporting a central lapis teardrop pendant. With subtle flecks of pyrite glittering in the matrix, the stones display the rich range of saturated blues that makes lapis such a favorite.

It's a dramatic effect but with a fluid lightness and delicately sculpted details. I especially like the kissing dolphins suspended above the teardrop pendant. 

Details: With an approximate 16" necklace length, the drop of the central pendant is about 4 3/4". Not marked for metal content but XRF tested to sterling silver. Weighs 29.7 grams.

Condition: In excellent condition with a light antique patina and a some light wear to the stones. The tear drop pendant has a small divot (see last photo) on the side facing back , not noticeable when worn. The original bolt ring clasp is in strong working order.
