Star Ruby Hexagon Bead Necklace

Natural star ruby beads in a custom hexagon cut that we've hand-knotted on lilac silk and finished with an antique 10k clip clasp. The rutiles within the beads are known as the "silk", they create the phenomena of choyatancy that makes these beads so unique: in particular with star rubies it's called asterism, or a star pattern.

Because of the way these beads are cut the patterns appear as unique webs of silvery lavender, and no two are alike. I love the way the beads shimmer with a delicate iridescence that makes this necklace truly one of a kind.

Details: Measuring approximately 20 5/8" long. The beads are slightly graduated from approximately 5.6 mm to 8.3 mm. The clip clasp can also be used to hang your favorite pendant or charm. The findings and clasp are all solid 14k gold.
