Victorian Enamel Forget Me Nots Locket

An antique sterling silver locket circa 1880, with gorgeous engraved detail, featuring a realistically illustrated enamel spray of forget-me-not, symbolic of regard and a sincere wish to be held dear in thought and memory.

The compartment, visible at the back, can hold a photo or small memento such as a lock of hair, and is protected by a tension-fit glass-paned cover. Hung from a fine 22" sterling silver cable chain.

Details: Measuring approximately 2" north to south including the oversized bail, the locket itself measures 1 1/2" high by 7/8" wide. Professionally tests to sterling silver.

Condition: In excellent overall condition with a gentle antique patina speaking to its dignified age, and some light wear, but no disfiguring dings, dents or obvious wear to the enamel. There is some light oxidization to the compartment lining, not visible with a photo in place.
