Victorian Old Mine Cut Diamond Ring
An elegant antique diamond solitaire ring circa 1890 crafted in 10k rose gold featuring a cushion shaped old mine-cut diamond with prismatic sparkle, throwing back gorgeous rainbow-tinged flashes as light hits the chunky facets: estimated .63 ctw, K color, SI-2 clarity.
The delicate arabesque prongs hold the stone at just the right height for maximum glitter, while the sweet little flowers gracing the shoulders epitomize the romance of the era.
Not only April's birthstone and a classic engagement favorite, diamonds are also a traditional reference to fidelity, constancy, power and strength, among other things. During the Middle Ages, it was believed that a diamond would grow darker in the face of guilt and shone most brightly for the innocent and pure of heart.
Details: Measuring approximately 6.16 mm north to south with the shoulders tapering gently through to 2.4 mm at the center back. Not marked for gold content but professionally tested to 10k. The diamond is an estimated .63 ctw, K color, SI-2 clarity; the ring will come with a full appraisal by a third party GIA and AGA certified gemologist.
