Old Mine Cut Diamond Studs, 1.84 ctw
This pair of dynamic cushion-shaped old mine-cut diamonds date to the late 19th century, we set them in modern 14k 4-prong mountings to make the perfect everyday go-to earrings, though their incredible fire and investment size makes them dressy enough for special occasions.
Old mine-cut diamonds are the grandfather of the modern brilliant-cut with higher crowns, chunky facets and open culets. They have their own unique and individual personalities: a warm friendly energy that makes them different from the uniformly perfect diamonds of today.
It's a personal preference to be sure, but I think they are spectacular, especially when as phenomenal as these stones, with their gorgeous fire.
Details: The stones have a 1.84 ctw for the pair, diameters of 5.8 and 5.95 mm, VS-2 and SI-1 clarity and H/I color, with standard gauge posts and sturdy 14k pushbacks. The earrings come with a full appraisal completed by an independent GIA and AGA certified gemologist.
