Victorian Lion Bangle with Diamonds
Lions and tiger and bears were favorite motifs for jewels in the late 19th century. This antique Victorian bangle bracelet is crafted in 10k yellow gold, featuring a big cat with flowing mane and glittering ruby eyes, a fiery old mine-cut diamond set in his jaws, flanked by diamonds to each side accenting the scrolled shoulders.
An elegant solo statement for the feline lover, the gold has a warm glow with a light antique patina that gives depth and character to the modeling of that proud face.
Details: Set with an approximate .25 ct. old mine-cut diamond in the jaws, and two old mine-cut diamonds on the shoulders, estimated at .14 ct each for a total estimated .53 ctw. Not marked for gold content but professionally tests to 10k, weighs 19.5 grams.
Size: A 7 1/2" inner circumference, measuring approximately 2 5/8" across the widest closed diameter and 2 1/4" across from front to back diameter. A width of 1 1/8" north to south at the center front, with a 1/8" width of the bracelet at the center back.
Condition: In excellent condition, with a light antique patina and minimal wear, the bracelet hinge and clasp are in firm and sturdy working order.
