Vintage Love Struck Heart Brooch

A sweet vintage brooch crafted in 14k and brimming with love token symbolism. Designed as a pearl studded heart with a gold arrow shot through, it represents that moment when you realize you've just met your soul mate.

Love struck, gob-smacked, head over heels... whatever you call it it means the same thing. 

Details: Measuring approximately 1 1/2" long and 3/4" wide. Marked for 14k on the pin stem. Hinge and clasp are in secure working order.

History: The symbol of a heart with Cupid's arrow shot through it is generally recognized to refer to a state of mind known as "lovestruck": when one is consumed by a soul deep love beyond any control. An evolution from the image of a sword through the heart which represented the redemptive love of Jesus for mankind, first noted in the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in the middle of the 17th century.
