Antique Enamel 4-Leaf Clover & Crescent Pendant
Originally an antique Art Nouveau brooch circa 1900, we've redefined this lovely piece as a pendant for the modern love story. Crafted in 14k yellow gold featuring realistically detailed four-leaf clovers, enameled in rich shades of green and accented with sparkling mine-cut diamonds in the center, nestled in the pearl studded curve of a crescent moon.
A four leaf clover is thought to bring luck and each leaf to represent a different theme: faith, love, hope and luck. In the Victorian lexicon of floral symbolism it was also used as a love token, to send a simple but heart-felt message of hopeful affection.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 3/16" high, including the attached bail, by 7/8" wide. Hung from a fine vintage 18" 10k cable chain. Total necklace weight approximately 5 grams.
Condition: In excellent antique condition with a light patina. There's light enamel wear to one of the lobes on the larger clover towards the inside near the diamond. A couple of the pearls have been replaced, and there are subtle marks on the back of the crescent where the pin findings were removed. The tiny hole is intentional in the original construction as a way to let heat escape when soldered.
