Edwardian French Cut Garnet Brooch
An antique bar brooch circa 1905, featuring a line of deliciously saturated French-cut garnets set in 14k yellow gold. The stones have excellent color and clarity while the facets bring out a lively play of glittering highlights.
Garnet is traditionally considered a symbol of passionate devotion, and not just romantic or emotional but relating to one's purpose and goals as well. Ancient lore says garnet given as a gift between two lovers who must part for a time is metaphysical insurance that they will one day be reunited.
DETAILS: Measures approximately 1 9/16" long by 1/4" at the widest. Not marked for gold content but professionally tests to 14k.
CONDITION: In excellent condition with slight evidence of possible repair in the re-soldering of the antique clasp, not visible when worn (please see photos).
