Edwardian Amethyst & Pearl Necklace
The glittering purple of the natural amethysts in this circa 1910 Edwardian necklace is so lovely, the stones sparkle with brilliant wisteria and orchid lightlights, perfectly accented by creamy slightly-baroque pearls and the soft matte glow of the 14k gold filigree settings.
Details: The pendant measures approximately 2 1/2" north to south with a 1 3/4" measurment across the top, the chain providing a 15 1/2" necklace length with the original barrel clasp. The two round amethysts measure 10.5 mm, the pear shape is 13 mm by 8.5 mm. The four pearls are each 3 mm. Marked for 14k, next to a horseshoe hallmark that might refer to the Osmers-Dougherty Co. manufacturing jewelers in N.Y., N.Y. from 1909-1915. Weighs approximately 9.3 grams.
Condition: In excellent condition with a light patina and minimal abrasion to a couple of the amethyst's facets, visible with a jeweler's loupe. The clasp is in strong working order.
