Antique Bypass Toi et Moi Diamond Ring
An elegant antique two stone bypass or Toi et Moi ring circa 1910, crafted in 14k yellow gold featuring a pair of incredibly prismatic old European-cut diamonds, approximately 2 ctw.
Perfectly stackable and able to blend well with rings from a variety of eras. A fantastic choice as an engagement ring, as well as a lovely addition to a collection of other vintage and antique pieces.
The two stone crossover or bypass motif, also known as a "Toi et Moi" or "You and Me", was a style quite popular in the late Victorian to early Edwardian period symbolizing the twining of two souls or lovers. Historically however, it dates back to the late 18th century when Napolean gave Josephine a sapphire and diamond Toi et Moi engagement ring.
Details: Measuring approximately 1/2" north to south with a 2 mm width at the center back of the band. Engraved "A.G.T." on the inside of the band and marked for 14k next to the jeweler's hallmark for Jones & Woodland, manufacturing jewelers in Newark, N.J. from 1896-1910.
The ring will come with a full appraisal from a third party GIA and AGA certified gemologist.
