18k Band Dated 1866
An antique band crafted in warm 18k rose tinted yellow gold with a textural floral pattern hand-engraved around the outside and low rounded profile that makes it comfortable for every day wear.
Dated 1866 in an inscription inside, the year after the end of the American Civil War. I can't help but wonder if it was given by a soldier to his beloved, finally able to wed, after years of brutal service to his cause.
Details: Measuring approximately 4.73 mm wide, and 1.2 mm thick, with a weight of approximately 3.6 grams. The inscription on the inside reads: "G.Grice to J.D.W. Nov. 1866" Hallmarked for 18k.
Size: It hits the ring sizer at 61/2 but might feel a bit smaller due to the width. Not resizable.
Condition: In excellent antique condition with the mellow patina of dignified age and light age related thinning and softening of the engraving.
