Antique Silver Ball Slide Chain

$0.00

This product is unavailable

An early 20th century sterling silver ball chain with decorative slide, meant to hold a pendant or some useful ladies item like a pencil or lorgnette on the attached dog clip. Patented in 1916, the ball chain is such a perfect design it hasn't changed a bit in over 100 years of manufacture.

Details: The chain measures approximately 28" long, meant to slip over the head without a clasp closure. The clip adds 7/8" to the drop. The slide is embossed with roses on both sides, and while it's a little cranky going up and down the chain it does stay put once it's placed in position. The clip is marked 830 silver, the chain and slide XRF test for 925 (sterling silver).

Condition: In excellent condition with a gentle antique patina. The watch clip clasp is in strong working order. The slide wants to be cajoled into sliding but if you're gentle it will obey.
