Victorian Silver Filigree Collar Necklace

$1,500.00

An unusual late 19th century Victorian statement collar necklace consisting of five rows of lacy silver filigree beads gracefully swagged between filigree decorated spacers. It's a dramatic look, with fluid movement of the strands that makes it quite comfortable on the neck.

Likely of eastern European or continental Indian origin, the clasp mechanism is a screw type and very secure once fastened.

Details: With an approximate 16" necklace length, the drop of the swagged strands gives it about 1 3/4" width at most. The fronts of the spacers have filigree rondelle decoration, while the backs have plain silver discs. Professionally tests to at least 900 silver.

Condition: In excellent condition with a light antique patina and a few beads out of round, very difficult to see even on close examination. The clasp is in strong working order with light wear and slight dimples on the balls at each side of the clasp mechanism.
