Victorian Ruby & Diamond Celestial Locket

A wonderful antique locket circa 1895 crafted in 10k rose gold featuring a crescent moon and star on the front cover, set with brightly sparkling old mine-cut diamonds and natural rubies. An engraved shagreen, or eelskin, pattern provides a backround for the celestial motif as well as textural interest on the back.

Details: Measuring approximately 1" square the locket opens to reveal space inside for two photos, retaining the original photo holders, and closes securely. Weighs approximately 6.1 grams.

Condition: In excellent antique condition with some light dimpling on the back and some light marks inside, not visible when closed. Not marked for gold content but professionally acid tests to 10k.
