Victorian Agate Locket Necklace
$1,000.00
A Victorian locket with strong graphic appeal circa 1865, crafted in 14k gold with a slab of black and white agate on one side and a brown and white agate on the other. The interior compartment is deep, and likely originally held a daguerreotype; it's the perfect size for a small keepsake like a lock of hair, photo or dried flower from a special bouquet.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 1/4” north to south, not including the large bail, and 15/16” east to west. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 14k. Hung from a 24” gold-filled cable chain.
Condition: In excellent condition with a light patina and a few subtle nibbles to the edges of the agates. The hinge is in firm working order and the locket stays securely closed.
