Victorian Taille D'Epargne Drops
A wonderful pair of Victorian statement earrings circa 1875. Crafted in 14k yellow gold with intricate taille d'épargne or black tracery enamel worked within a milgrained scroll and acanthus leaf motif; the smooth gleaming ball drops at the bottom are a lovely contrast to the velvety hand-engraved texture.
They have definite prescence on the ear, but their construction makes them comfortably lightweight enough for everyday wear.
DETAILS: Approximately 2" north to south from the top of the ear wire curve to the bottom of the ball drop, and 11/16" east to west. Approximately 6.7 grams total weight for the pair.
CONDITION: In excellent condition with a light patina, the ball drops are cast and so have small intentional pin dot holes at the bottom, not noticeable when worn. Not marked for metal content but acid test to 14k.
