Antique Scottish Enamel Rifle Club Medal

$350.00

An interesting circa 1900 antique sporting club medal in sterling silver with the enameled figure of a bishop surrounded by symbols including a fish and a hand holding an open book. Reading "Glasgow University Rifle Club" on the front and "won by John Kinnaird" on the back.

An interesting little talisman, hung on a sterling squared cable chain.

Details: Measuring 1 3/4" high including the attached round bail, and 11/16" wide. Not marked for metal content but XRF tests to sterling silver, the 24" chain is marked "sterling" on the clasp, total necklace weight approximately 14.3 grams.

Condition: In excellent condition. There's a lovely soft patina with light age-appropriate wear, but no chips to the enamel or significant scratches.
