18k Band Dated 1912

$1,500.00

A classic antique wedding band, crafted in rich 18k gold circa 1912, with a solid construction and heavy weight that feels lovely on the finger. Similar in profile to the modern "comfort fit" with rounded edges that make it easy to wear on a daily basis.

A lot happened in 1912: the Oreo cookie was introduced (regular version, the deep fried came about 100 years later), Fenway Park opened in Boston, the first Tarzan comic book debuted, and of course the Titanic made it's tragic maiden voyage, launched on April 11th- within a week of the date inscribed inside this band.

Details: Measures approximately 4.18 mm wide and 1.97 mm thick, and weighs approximately 6.1 grams. Marked for 18k inside the band next to the engraved dedication "J.B.R. to A.L. April 6th 1912."

Size: 5 1/2, though it may fit a bit smaller due to the width. Sizing up is possible but the color of the added gold may not match exactly. Please contact us before purchase if you are interested in our sizing service.

Condition: In excellent condition with a gentle antique patina attesting to the love its original owner must have had for it, but no thinning or harsh scratches.
