WWI Era 22k Band Dated 1914
A sleek antique wedding band crafted in 22k yellow gold, dated in an inscription to 1914: "Fritz to Lydia, June 1, 1914". Simple and elegant, its gentle antique patina speaks to the love the original owner must have had for it.
The year 1914 was significant as the start of WWI, and while there's no way of knowing with any certainty, I do wonder if Fritz and Lydia remained together during that harrowing four year global conflict or if they were separated as newlyweds when Fritz decided to enlist to defend his country's ideals.
Details: Measuring approximately 2.69 mm wide and 1.54 mm thick. Marked for 22k on the inside next to the manufacturing jeweler's hallmark, weighs approximately 4.5 grams.
