18k Band Dated 1899

I love an antique band with a dated inscription: this one is crafted in rich warm 18k rose-tinted yellow gold and it's a striking choice for a wedding ring or a luxe look as a stacking piece. The smooth rounded profile, similar to a modern "comfort fit", is perfect for everyday wear.

The date indicates the couple wed on the cusp of a new century, and we can only imagine they spent many happy hours discussing the possibilities their future might hold. The technological advances that defined the 20th century were for the most part still in their conceptual phase, and even electric lighting, invented a couple of decades prior to the wedding date, did not see widespread residential adoption until the 1920s-1940s.

Details: Measuring approximately 4.4 mm wide, and 1.5 mm thick, with a satisfying weight of approximately 4.6 grams. Dated in an inscription on the inside: "Walter to Ida Dec. '99" and hallmarked 18k next to an unidentified jeweler's hallmark.

Size: 7 and resizable down slightly, we don't recommend sizing up as the added gold will not match the original.

Condition: In excellent condition with the mellow patina of dignified age but no disfiguring scraches or dents.
