Victorian 4 Vices of Man Fob Scissors

$450.00

Originally meant as a gentleman's watch chain fob, and likely for cutting cigars (or the odd stray beard hair) this Victorian sterling scissors case, housing a pair of steel scissors, is decorated with embossed representations of the four vices a conscientious 19th century man should avoid: horse racing, drinking, gambling, and lasciviousness.

Especially lasciviousness.

Details: Measuring approximately 3 1/8” long, not including the bail and jump ring, and 7/16” wide. The case is marked for sterling silver, the scissors are steel with sharp blades that can cut through threads, hairs and paper… we haven’t tested them on anything else.

Condition: The case is in excellent condition with a rich antique patina and a few light dings as testament to its dignified age and possibly not so dignified activities. The scissors have moderate oxidization.
