Victorian Ruby & Diamond Snowdrop Locket
The Victorian language of flowers translates the delicate floral design of this antique 20k yellow gold locket as a reference to consolation and hope: a snowdrop is an early sign of spring and the warmth and happiness of better days to come.
Bright raspberry-colored pear-shaped natural rubies are set as the petals, with accents of sparkling natural old mine-cut diamonds to indicate integrity, courage and eternal love.
Details: Measuring a hair shy of 7/8" (21 mm) in diameter, the locket opens to reveal space for two photos with the original photo holders, with glass on one side. Illegibly hallmarked on the bail, XRF tests to 20k. Weighs approximately 6.1 grams.
The back is plain and could accommodate engraving of initials or a special date. Please send us a message before purchase if you are interested in the details of our engraving service.
Condition: In excellent antique condition with a light patina and a couple of very subtle marks, but no disfiguring scratches or dents.
