Victorian Lovebird Heart Locket in 9k

A romantic antique heart locket circa 1900, crafted in 9k yellow gold with a pair of kissing lovebirds above a little heart, all outlined in glittering diamond-cut paste.

It opens to reveal space for two photos, then closes firmly with a satisfying snap.

Details: Measuring approximately 1 1/4" north to south including the scrolled top, and 1" east to west. Hallmarked on the back "9k front and back, silver setting" indicating silver plates behind the face to strengthen the stone setting. Inside the compartment antique metallic gold paper lines the front cover.  Hung from a 20" gold-filled cable chain.

Condition: In excellent antique condition with a light patina and some oxidization of the inside behind the paper. Subtle darkening of the stones, which appear to be all original.
