Circa 1885, an antique curb chain necklace in 10k gold with a warm honey tint, featuring barrel and ball shaped matte black French-jet bead stations. Perfect for layering with other chains or beads, as well as making an elegant solo statement.

Details: Measuring approximately 16" long with the barrel-shaped stations averaging 11.3 mm long by 5.4 mm wide, and the ball beads 5.6 mm in diameter. Marked for 10k gold content on the clasp. Weighs approximately 9.9 grams.

Condition: In excellent condition with a light antique patina. The barrel beads have some light wear near the ends, but no significant cracks or scratches.

History: "French jet" is a Victorian marketing term for black glass, manufactured in the mid-late 19th century to emulate Whitby jet, the popular mourning ornament material.
