Carnelian Bead Necklace with Scottish Padlock

Carnelian has been a favored stone for jewelry for literally thousands of years. It's durable, holds a high polish, and has a rich glowing color, a deep orangey-red that was once considered to be metaphysically powerful in itself. This necklace features a mix of 6 mm round and 4.3 mm faceted carnelian beads knotted on brown silk and finished with an antique Scottish sterling silver padlock clasp, inlaid with carnelian on one side.

The padlock can also be used with other chains or necklaces if desired. It opens and closes by pressure on the curved handle.

Details: The strand of beads is approximately 17 1/2" long, the padlock itself measures approximately 1 1/4" high by 5/8" wide. The clasp is sterling silver, in excellent working condition, with a firm hinge and closure. The end rings and findings are also sterling silver.
