Art Nouveau Enamel Peacock Feather Charm
Originally a small lace pin circa 1900, we repurposed this charming 14k enameled peacock feather as a charm. With it's rich color and slight iridescence it's perfect as a delicate solo statement, or a worthy companion to a collection of interesting charms and pendants.
Details: Measuring approximately 1 3/16" long, not including the bail, and about 3/8" at the widest. Solid 14k gold (tested). The 14k cable chain is 16" long. Approximately 3 gram necklace weight.
Condition: In excellent condition with no visible wear to the enamel and some slight marks on the back where the pin findings were removed, not noticeable when worn.
History: Peacocks are attributed with a wide range of symbolic meaning across cultures world wide including wisdom, dignity, beauty, immortality, and love. Christian tradition associates the peacock with the resurrection because the bird sheds and regrows its feathers each year; while in Hinduism the peacock is associated with Lakshmi, a deity representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and good luck.
