Art Deco Enamel Pierrot Necklace

$450.00

I love the colorful design of this vintage guilloché enameled Art Deco necklace: a graphic combination of striped bubbles (juggling balls?) with a portrait profile of Pierrot, the famous sad clown whose origins are found in the late seventeenth-century with an Italian troupe of players performing in Paris known as the Comédie-Italienne.

Details: The trio of pendant plaques measures approximately 2 1/2" long and 7/8" at the widest with a necklace length of 18 1/2". Marked for sterling on the back of each panel with the jeweler's hallmark for F.A. Herman & Co., founded in 1908.

Condition: In excellent condition with a light patina but no chips or scratches to the enamel surfaces. There are a couple of anomalies in the enamel under the surface that feel like small bubbles but are not noticeable when worn.  The original bolt ring is in secure working order.
